Sake Set

Plastic has transformed many times in its history.

With origins of a replacement to Ivory, into an industrialised form, a functional material and now a demonised burden on society.

This project is a exploration into the perceived value of plastic and the question, is it the material or they way we us it that has the biggest impact on the environment?

Applying handcraft techniques typically used on wood to plastics and then altering it in a way that only plastic can be manipulated, I seek to find a new view of plastic that will illicit a stronger emotional connection to plastic.
